I like hens. No hen, no egg. These litte ones keep your eggs warm and are easy to knit.
Here is the pattern:

You need:
wooly yarn (about 10 grams)
knitting needles n.5
crochet needle
small amount of yellow and red yarn
tapestry needle

Cast on 30 stitches.
1st row: knit
2nd row: knit first and second stitch together, knit to end.
Repeat until there are 6 stitches left, bind off.
Fold and sew both decreased sides together.

Comb
With red yarn work 6 sc at the top. Turn and make 6 picots.Bind off.

Beak:
With yellow yarn work 3 chain and 2 double crochet stitches.Bind off.

Jowl:
With red yarn make a few stitches.
